Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American artist and songwriter hailing of Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist contracted to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. The debut EP Pho, released in October 21st, 2016, was released via Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she began to get notoriety. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May of 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet in 2012 when she released her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. In 2014, she debuted new music through the internet including Bound. In July of 2015, she sung on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat it Out. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's reference. After that, in the course of the period, she released music that was circulating throughout Dreamville. She was officially signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was a track she recorded alongside Cozz to record The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. Her Pho EP was released on her debut EP on the 21st of October 21st, 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change in 2017 and also as an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. In 2018, she was featured as a guest performer on two songs with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas' Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th July of this year. The debut single, Whipped Cream of the album dropped on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a a music video. The 9th of November saw her release two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November 13, she released two more singles: The No One or Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released with her debut single February 26, 2019, to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured alongside Cole as part of The Creed II sound track on November 16. On February 20, 2019 the music video was released for the song. It already has more than three million views on YouTube in its first week. In December 2018 she took part in the From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
